Living Sacrifice

“Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.  “And do not be conformed to the image of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is,  that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”  Romans 12:1-2

Father, I choose You.  I choose to believe You!  I choose to listen to Your Word.

Thank you,  Holy Spirit, for inspiring the Apostle Paul to pen the Book of Romans.  I have found and treasured Your mercies.  Because of Your mercies I am bound to present my body to you.  My spirit and soul are Yours.  My body is with me until my last breath and I understand that it needs to be on Your altar.

I don’t want to think, believe and follow the world’s system. I choose to be transformed by the renewing of my mind…I love Your Word! You have given me the gift of Your Word to renew my mind.

This is my prayer everyday.  This is my start everyday because in my sin sometimes I take myself off Your altar and choose to do things my way.  You whisper to me.  “You are My living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to Me–come back to My altar of peace, life and strength.  Live in obedience to Me and the world will see My will lived out in your life.”

Precious Ones….(that means you, the reader of this blog)

I took these two verses into my heart when I reached Romans 12.  I read and pondered them to a point they became embedded in my spirit.  The key to this beginning in Romans 12 is the first word, “therefore” referring to all the doctrine and teaching the Apostle Paul taught in the first 11 chapters. The mercies of God revealed in His truths and promises to us… our calling, justification, redemption, adoption, ALL of it.

What is our response? “present our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to God which is our reasonable service of worship. AND how are we to live? “Be not conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of our mind that we may prove what is that good and acceptable will of God.”

God bless you,

Marilyn

He is all powerful.

My father speaks to me through His awesome creation.  Trying to imagine what that day was like when He spoke everything into existence.  Your creative action spoke light and life and hope.

You speak to my heart today about the power of the gospel.

“For I am not ashamed of the Gospel for It is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes to the Jew first and also to the Greek.  For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith.  But the righteous man shall live by faith.”

Romans 1:16-17

Abba Father

You are my Abba Father… my Savior… my all in all.

Before you were crucified, died and  buried.  Before You were raised on the third day and appeared to Peter, then to the 12, James, the Apostles, and to more than 500 brethren at one time and lastly Paul.  Before You ascended to heaven…

You said….so much. You left us with Your Words…. Truth.

And then….

You sent the Holy Spirit…so we can live, move and love in sync with You.

I pray that Your truth, Your Word will settle deeply in me so that I will walk worthy of You unto all pleasing..

Do not fear

Father thank you for showing me that the sin that most easily entangles me is  fear.

You have the Truth.  You  have the way out.   And the way out is  LOVE.

Nothing…. NOTHING can separate me from Your love!

Confessing the sin of fear and believing Your Word  I am free!

Empowered by Your Spirit I am free to live, love, and worship.

“But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him Who loved us.  For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”    Romans 8:37-39

As You Walk …

My dear friend, Joanne Viola, has a blog I follow. I always am encouraged in my faith and challenged to a closer walk with Jesus.

Days & Thoughts

Mother and daughter (4-5) walking hand in hand, Germany

“These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.” (Deuteronomy 6:6-9, NIV)

Give us courage, Lord, to speak our faith. Script our tongues with the language of your holy Word, and sanctify our mouths for your intended purposes. Let not our fears keep us from speaking the truth of who you are, and let not our weak and sometimes feeble faith be a hindrance to those we teach. You have entrusted us with your faith story; keep us faithful to grow it in the generation that sleeps beneath our roofs this night…

True spiritual food!

I am yours and You are mine.  Father, speak to me!

Lately I have been home-bound and what awesome lessons You have been speaking to me.  At times of loneliness You have spoken “I am with you”, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”  Your Word is so powerful in my life.  The more I take in of Your Word, the more I crave of You.  You are the only One Who can satisfy my thirsty heart and soul.

Reading and studying in John chapter 6, I see You as Bread of Life.  I hunger.  I eat.  I drink.  I am consumed by Your love.  I have everything in You.  I have received You and all that You accomplished for me on the cross.  I have eaten your flesh and drank your blood.  I have Your very Life inside of me.

You are my joy and strength and peace and everything I need to walk worthy of you and that is my heart’s desire.  Father, speak to me.

Bless and encourage those who visit here.
