I Didn’t Notice

My dear friend, Joanne Viola posts everyday on her blog DAYS & THOUGHTS. Be blessed as you read…. that you are noticed!

She stated to me that most days she feels invisible. It broke my heart as I think most of us have felt this way at some time or another. It is not a pleasant feeling.

Invisible is to be in a room filled with people, not know who to talk with and realize no one will be approaching you either. It’s as if no one notices you or even knows you are there.

The enemy would be quick to move in on those thoughts. He knows how to capitalize on a lie …

  • “Why should anyone notice you?”
  • “There’s nothing interesting about you.”
  • “If you were funnier, a better conversationalist or knew how to make small talk, maybe then they’d notice you.”

These lies will explode in our minds faster than an overblown balloon can pop. To prevent this, one must reign the lies in with the truth of God.

Just Stand Firm

One of the hardest things to do is “wait”. Waiting doesn’t sound like a faith word or even a word that demonstrates believing God. Waiting almost seems to have a faltering connotation, like what one would do at those times when one has no idea what else to do.

“To wait” >> “toremaininactiveorinastateofrepose,untilsomethingexpectedhappens” (as per dictionary.com).

There are times in life when we are confronted with a circumstance or difficulty in which we have no idea what we are to do. And like Moses, we must remind ourselves …

“Do not be afraid. Stand firm [wait] and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today.” (Exodus 14:13, NIV)

There it is – Wait. Wait until something happens. Faith says, “Wait. Stand firm.” Our feelings may tell us otherwise ….

  • Discouragement says, “Throw in the…

Do not fear

Father thank you for showing me that the sin that most easily entangles me is  fear.

You have the Truth.  You  have the way out.   And the way out is  LOVE.

Nothing…. NOTHING can separate me from Your love!

Confessing the sin of fear and believing Your Word  I am free!

Empowered by Your Spirit I am free to live, love, and worship.

“But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him Who loved us.  For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”    Romans 8:37-39

As You Walk …

My dear friend, Joanne Viola, has a blog I follow. I always am encouraged in my faith and challenged to a closer walk with Jesus.

Days & Thoughts

Mother and daughter (4-5) walking hand in hand, Germany

“These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.” (Deuteronomy 6:6-9, NIV)

Give us courage, Lord, to speak our faith. Script our tongues with the language of your holy Word, and sanctify our mouths for your intended purposes. Let not our fears keep us from speaking the truth of who you are, and let not our weak and sometimes feeble faith be a hindrance to those we teach. You have entrusted us with your faith story; keep us faithful to grow it in the generation that sleeps beneath our roofs this night…

True spiritual food!

I am yours and You are mine.  Father, speak to me!

Lately I have been home-bound and what awesome lessons You have been speaking to me.  At times of loneliness You have spoken “I am with you”, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”  Your Word is so powerful in my life.  The more I take in of Your Word, the more I crave of You.  You are the only One Who can satisfy my thirsty heart and soul.

Reading and studying in John chapter 6, I see You as Bread of Life.  I hunger.  I eat.  I drink.  I am consumed by Your love.  I have everything in You.  I have received You and all that You accomplished for me on the cross.  I have eaten your flesh and drank your blood.  I have Your very Life inside of me.

You are my joy and strength and peace and everything I need to walk worthy of you and that is my heart’s desire.  Father, speak to me.

Bless and encourage those who visit here.
